Living life in my head

Sometimes I feel like I’m living life in my head.  I’ll remember that I need to send a friend a thank you note.  I'll even get so far as to plan out what I’ll say.  And then something happens, say, a lob of jell-o soars through the air, and the thank you note is forever trapped in my psyche.   Then I’ll see the friend, feel like I’ve thanked them, and then remember that I never actually wrote the note.

I do this with phone calls, emails, bills, laundry, projects, crafts, blog entries, you name it, and I’ve lived it … in my head.  You would not believe how productive I am in my head.

This month, I’m going to move out of my head into the real world.

We did four more loads that night, and two the next day.IMG_6657

Speaking of loads, look at this load of cuteness: IMG_6649

Brookston and Everett.  These days they say things like: “That’s so funny,” and “I don’t want” and “OUTside.”  I’ve thought about making a list of words they know -- but I feel like I’d miss too many.  Should I try?  Okay. I will.  Here it goes (I’ll try and follow what they say throughout the day):IMG_6645

get up?, get out? down? light. window. tree.  bird. see the bird? diaper. soap. light. back on. eat? cereal. hungry (comes out as ‘honey’, but oh, well).  banana. chair. table. spoon.  bowl.  picture. baby? baby, where go? blanket. phone. book. eye. nose. button. ear. cheek. leg. mouth. outside? chalk. door. shoes. clothes.  shirt. pants. socks. foot. OUTside! bee. rock. flower. grass. tree. stick. STICK. mulch. leaf. bug. ant.  car. truck. button. seat. bike. look. airplane. (sounds like aa-plane-eh). bye bye airplane. cloud.  shoes. star. sun. draw/ing. ball. on. off. park. playground. gate. water. slide. climb. help. yay!, swing. tire. sand. shovel. bucket. dig. hole. push.  duck.  quack says the duck.  vacuum. drop (droppy). chicken (chicky).  home.  NO.  nugget.  green bean.  orange. juice. more!  bar.  baa baa, this is the sound of settling.  jump!  try. hard. stuck. read. box. bag. teeth. cheese. apple.  cup. milk. pine cone.  dance.  dad. mom. That’s what we can think of, but that isn’t all of it.

rambling somewhere only we know

get ready for ramblings:

I secretly have a thing for Japanamation.  I guess it’s no longer a secret now.  It’s a small thing; I really don’t know much about Japaname, but sometimes it just really makes me happy.

So, this one time I was a little in love with Keane’s Somewhere Only We Know song, and I wanted to see the official music video.  I didn’t know much about Keane either.  I think I might have had to call my friend Amy and sing parts of the song to her in order to figure out the title and have her tell me who sings it.  I don’t know, I can’t remember for certain, but things like that have been known to happen.  Ames is a lifesaver in more ways than just knowing songs from only a few notes or words.

Anyway, during my search for Keane’s music video, I came across this before I found the original:

And since I’m telling secrets, I’ll go ahead and tell you that I cried a little bit there at the end.  You’ll know the spot when it gets there.

Then I found out it was composed of scenes from Final Fantasy 8, so I read about its story line and got thoroughly confused.

This all occurred, like, 4 years ago.

I was still curious what Keane, the band, thought this song meant, so I finally found their official video here:

Now, you watch both of those videos and tell me which is better.
